The company adapts Portuguese non-theatrical texts to theater, so that lots of novels, poems, folk stories all go on stage and are the basis of Teatro o Bando's dramaturgic work.

This fact makes Teatro o Bando the group with most shows created from masterworks of Portuguese Authors.
